Fylde and Prescote Social

The weekend of 19th to 20th May 2018 was very special for a number of people. It was special for the joining together in matrimony of the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It was special for the supporters and players in the FA Cup final between Chelsea and Manchester United and more locally, it was special for the members, family and friends of Fylde Conclave No 125 of Poulton le Fylde.
The Supreme Ruler had decreed that in the true ethos of friendship for which the Order of the Secret Monitor is renowned, a summer event should be held to which anyone known to brethren of the conclave could be invited. An outstretching of the hands of fellowship beyond the order itself.  His Social Secretary rose to the task with aplomb and with relish.

What could be nicer on a weekend filled with such great displays of camaraderie and patriotism than a High Tea with all the finery that it entails is the beautiful setting of the Art Deco Cafe in Blackpool's Stanley Park.

Some 18 brethren, friends and families representing Fylde and Prescote conclaves joined together for a sumptuous tea of dainty starters, bounteously filled sandwiches and luscious cakes served on the very best china crockery. All agreed that it was an excellent repast and an opportunity to get together in a formal setting but coupled with very relaxed atmosphere. The time together additionally raised the sum of £45.00 towards the Supreme Ruler's chosen charities for 2018/2019.

Hands outstretched to those that we know but also to those that we don't. Making a difference and transforming lives.
